DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO RESTORE AN ANTIQUE HOUSE?
First, it takes a vision. You must know your architectural history. 18th Century colonial, Victorian Greek Revival to name a couple. So much inspiration and perspiration is needed. TIME will allow you to follow your dreams. The Historic Salem Cross Inn is a great example of American Historical Architecture. Check it out.. pay attention to the details. I have.
I have bought derelict homes and have transformed into wonderful residences. So has SonJosh. Every aspect of restoration takes time. I lived in the yellow Curtains house for 2 years with an amazing leaking slate roof. Our kitchen was without a sink for as long. I lowered the kitchen ceiling 18 inches by using my brain and framing the ceiling in style. It blew Langevin away!
I have wall boarded ceilings, walls, taped joints and sanded same. I never heard the term Flip back then. Past Rusiecki sanded all of my flooring both in new s well as antique houses. It's fun!
Save your money, exploit the housing markets and you too can achieve what I have since 1969. Now I'm and old man enjoying sharing my thoughts withinterested partied. A MAN'S HOME IS HIS CASTLE AND FORTRESS! Do it!

SOME TIPS ON BUYING YOUR FIRST HOME
Owning a house is all about money. lots of money!
Of uttermost importance is saving for a DOWN PAYMENT. A rule of thumb is to save in a separate account 20% of the agreed purchase price. The more you save, the smaller your monthly mortgage payment will be. But wait!
Houses are expensive. You have homeowners insurance, maybe PMI, maintenance and upkeep. The term of your mortgage (years) may be 40 years, 35 years, 30 years, 25 years, 20 years and 15 years.
Money is like Jello. Some people have a goal of paying down their loan and others never pay things off.
Learn about the region you want to live in i.e. THE BROOKFIELDS, SPENCER, WARE, ETC. Want a big yard for your dog run or a tiny yard requiring little mowing.

ALL THE WORK YOU CAN DO ARE LABORS OF LOVE. You can save thousands by being a "Do-It-Selfer." paint and paper are cheap.
Shop around for preferred mortgage rates. BUY A LITTLE MORTGAGE BOOK.
Empty houses can be cheaper! Look for motivated sellers...widows, divorce, relocation, growing family looking for more space! A foreclosure? Look for For Sale signs son houses. Look at the many Classified and Display Ads.
Never be afraid to make an OFFER with the down payment to back up your Good Faith offer.

PHOTOGRAPHY AS A RITE OF SPRING 2017
To capture the miracle of Spring demands cognitive skills with the brain and the eye!
'A PHOTOGRAPH IS AN EXTENSION OF YOUR MINDS EYE!' This wisdom was imparted to me when I took a course in photography in Windsor, CT about 1977.It holds true today.
You must create your topic before pressing the shutter release!
Digital photography is magical and you are the magician!
I have owned a NIKON for over 5 years and now I am taking a refresher course to re-learn my skills. You have the same skills. The trick to photography is making people happy. Irving England was a master at this. Practice, practice, practice.
Spring is like heaven in my life. When flowers bloom my old heart sings. I use Walgreen's in Ware for some of my work.I also have two grades of HP Photo Paper: "Addvanced Photo Paper - Glossy and Everyday Photo Paper, Glossy. 4X 6 and 5 X 7.The ratings go up to *****. I have **** and ***.
Your photographic options are truly u
unlimited as are mine so let's go "APRIL." Photography is so satisfying......so do it!

THE CASE OF MY MISSING PRESCRIPTION DRUG -QUETIAPINE FUMARATE
My Grandmother Potvin's admonition to me 50 years ago was "Don't grow old, Robert!" Grow old, Sarah did, indeed to age 92!
Now as I "mellow" my memory fades with each passing day. Thank God for blogging and spell-check!
The good folks at the VA do their best helping us geezers. Yesterday was getting a few pills to hold me over."They're in the mail!" Now I search high and low to find the five given me. Come-on! Where did I put the little bag and plastic vile?
My mother used to say a "prayer to Saint Anthony!" LOL. Maybe I should say a prayer to Saint Robert? LOL...LOL...LOL.

TWO SECRETS OF MARKETING : FREQUENCY & REACH
So you want to be rich and famous! You must get your message to folks and reach for the stars! Simple!
THICK BACON, 3 EGGS AND A DASH OF HONEY
My favorite meal of recent times is two slices of thick bacon, pan fried, 3 jumbo eggs and a splash of honey! Yum! Breakfast, lunch or supper, it doesn't matter. Scramble them if you like... but do me a favor and enjoy my treat!
THE DAY LBJ SAID "NO" TO YOURS TRULY!
Not many Americans had the LBJ experiences I did as a young man. My presidential transition to appreciating our new Leader.follow-up to our loss of JFK saw an orderly transition of my liberal-thinking ways.
LBJ presented himself at Saint Louis on February 14, 1964 and I was first in line to shake his hand! "NO SON, I MIGHT NEED (MY HANDKERCHIEF LATER)" he said with a smile! This one moment has been a memory of memory.
Today at the VA I saw a picture of President Trump. He looks so stern and angry! Come on, Mr. President, Lighten-up!
Right now I'm watching LBJ on YouTube... his last interview with Walter Cronkite. Life can be so good if you look for it!
