ARTHRITIS 101

Never have I thought about the implications of growing old than in the fast 4 days. My weigh bearing extremities carrying around my 195 pounds are telling me something: lose those few pounds that have crept in the past two  days. I do believe every oldie encounters arthritis at one time or another. Tylenol here I come.

Princess Madeline shone at her First Communion this morning. Maddie was a reader of the Good Word. She offers the world so much and with her stunning white gown and million dollar smile Madeline Rose was and is the pride of the family. Four kids, today, is no small order for Josh and Heidi. I have Madeline a crisp twenty dollar bill. After the ceremony our family celebrated to Birch Hill.

Next, Madeline had a soccer game. I tell you, Josh and Heidi are two busy parents.

Tonight I enjoyed another episode of A Prairie Home Companion broadcast live from Galveston, Texas. I thoroughly enjoy Garrison Keillor's talents including his humor. We are two weeks apart in age!

No gambling today. No word of "Johnson" hit for a million! I told him kiddingly "If you hit for a million I want a new car." What would you do if you won a million dollars? Me/ I'd buy a toupee.  Never.

AMERICAN RIOTS

I was a soldier on my way home when seeing the aftermath of the Tet Offensive. Ho Chi Minh City was in shambles. The

year was 1968. Two months later, in my own Country, riots began to erupt along with demonstrations. Social unrest seems to be the key requirement for riots. America has a terrible record for riots!

Los Angeles riots in 1962 were the biggest. Property damage, fires, looting, killings seem to destroy our society. In a riot there are no "guardrails." All hell brakes loose. When Rev. Martin Luther King was assassinated in April of 1968 riots broke out in over 100 cities. It seems poverty is a blood brother to a riot. Big cities are vulnerable to crime.

Detroit, Miami, Washington, DC, Newark, Baltimore and Chicago are amongst biggest cities having a riot history. The grandady of riots in Colonial times  was the Boston Tea Party where but 7 people were killed. Riot squads in America call out the National Guard, the U.S. Army and the thousands of city police restoring "Law and Order."

It's kind of scary watching the San Francisco scene last night and today. Are we in for a "long hot summer?/ Are Americans fed up enough to rebel? Will Cleveland be the hot spot of our summer? Maybe a little revolution is good... maybe not.

Circumstances don't make the man.. they reveal him. Mr. Donald Trump continues to dazzles the pundits with the truth. His is the accumulation of experiences and insights. Nobody in recent times can match The Donald's reaches of the four corners of the world. This will be good as he build's his Administration.

A leader must have a vision. Trump is a leader an Trump has a vision. Further, Trump is entertaining in delivering his speeches. He seems to have a universal appeal bringing into his tent people of all ages, colors and creeds. If he doesn't like what you stand for hell tell you. You must realize Donald J. Trump has been preparing for this moment for a life time.

THE EFFRONTERY OF DONALD TRUMP

California here he comes! Shameless and bold, the man who wants to be president certainly is showing his colors of red, white and blue.  Stand tall Americans and join the bandwagon of The Donald. He certainly has lassoed America's soul with snippets of the truth. You just can't deny Trump's passion.

In 1960 JFK discovered the new medium of television. Today it's not about television but about tablets and SmartPhones. Media including my blog circumnavigate then planet in a nanosecond. Magellan took months if the wind was in his favor. Both the Silent Majority and the lifers on Capitol Hill have been given notice to it all.

Trump's brashness is really a welcome breeze. We will never be the same again.. like it or not. The momentum of the Trump Campaign is on fire. This is good as Americans are FAT. They need a kick in he slats. I don't care as I have been through the wringer and enjoy the state-of-the-art life I live at age 73.

Coach Bobby Knight from IU was erroneous in the year Harry Truman dropped the bomb. It was 1945 not 1944. He used he term "billions" loosely. As I am a sleuth I pick these things up.

THE EYES HAVE IT!

Today was Worcester health for Old Bob the Blogger. I sing the praises of the Veterans' Administration - Worcester and the Edward   M. Kennedy Health Center on Tacoma Street. My little Chiquita Iliana L. has gone on to bigger and better things at U Mass Medical. Today, I lined up with the dental folks to line my dentures. On May 10th. No comment as I'm indentured by my dentures.

Then onto the VA on Lincoln Street. These medical facilities remind me of my year working at the 345th Medial

 

 

 

 

Detachment in Vietnam. Almost 50 years have passed since I worked as an x-ray technician . This experience is lifelong as it gives me two legs up in anatomy & physiology. No pun intended.. and no pun in ten did..LOL.

My arthritic knee was examined by a friendly and nice nurse just returning from Mexico.. how lucky. My West Brookfield  "tan"will have to do. I did see Dr. Goldstein, formerly of West Brookfield, chatting in the hallway. Also,I had a first-class review of what x-rays are today. Seems to be the same.. PA & Lateral and Sunrise of my patella.

The real treat came from an eye doctor named Abbey. We became friends immediately and her comprehensive eye exam earned Dr. Abbey an A+!  I let Dr. Landry know of my appreciation and approval. The two ladies spent an hour reviewing my visual acuities. 20/20 corrected. Now comes the fun part:

I had a choice of frames and I said "I want something sophisticated" to technician, "Donna Diana." My new frames will be a staid black. Two pairs awesome. The new me, indeed!

Conversations with "Donna Diana" were provocative. First she asked me to do an auctioneer chant. I declined deferring to The Auctioneer Song and Leroy Van Dyke.  This song came out in 1956 inspiring boys across the land to "be an auctioneer." I was 14 at the time and became a successful auctioneer in Worcester County.

Next came the question "Would you vote for Jacqueline Kennedy if she were running for President!?" Such a question. I have been a Jackie Kennedy fan since day one. I would vote for Jackie for QUEEN! No body realize of her inherent beauty & charm and tolerance.

By the way, Donna cited my wide purview of eyes. This is where I piped in saying 'Jackie Kennedy too had wide eyes.' The poor lady only live to 64. She charmed the world, indeed.

TRUMP AS LIKABLE

I think Donald Trump is coming around. After five victories on Tuesday The Donald is blossoming out in thought word and insults. Trump seems to be smiling more and is opening up in his presidential plans of prosperity. You can't dey him this.

Use of the teleprompter will give him more definition.

Donald Trump can be one colorful dude. He tells it like it is and makes us laugh. His engine is gaining momentum and you an tell Donald J. Trump likes it immensely. He still takes many shots at the media and this is good.

''A good liar and crook." There are the attributes a sapient friend of mine said of some politicians. How many politicians are without baggage? Pros seem to

 glissade  over things to get elected. I think so.

Political candidates are slick.. some are genuine.. most are human. In looking at  footage from YouTube from Tricky Dickie to JFK and FDR the hyperbole of many is revealing. LBJ was a master of the lie.

Today, Hillary Clinton is riding high. in victories. She's a lawyer, master politician and statesman. Hillary is a wonderful champion of her causes. I have seen Hillary in action from day one. She has a likable persona. Compassionate, Hillary Clinton is true to what the Democratic Party stands for.. women's rights, equal rights, civil rights

But what about the ?? facing her? She's as much of a jet setter as here husband is. Just how detrimental will unanswered questions including her husband's dalliances be.

Make no bones about it, Donald Trump is the real deal. This raw-boned behemoth steamrolls his way through life seemingly enjoys I to the fullest. The apprentice is now the master and it shows. He's like a fast-talking auctioneer scanning the crowd for bids! But can and will The Donald Deliver  only time will tell.

Donald Trump has all the cards but are they all aces? Are there any jokers or deuces wild? "Promises, promises" are the keynotes of politicians but Trump slams the politicians. HE'S A POLITICIAN!..the juggernaut politician.

Are voters naïve?  The main media is having a ball belittling Donald Trump and he invariably counter punches anyone and everyone that comes in his way. But for how long? His attributes of being a teetotaler and non smoker are admirable. Trump suns on super-high-test gasoline. The question is does he have enough gas in his tank to make it victoriously to Election Day as victor?

BERNIE SANDERS

Democrat Bernie Sanders is making the presidential race interesting. Bernie is a wise old man as I am, and appeals to some of the masses. I am not so sure this is best for the country. He takes on Wall Street, big business, banks and insurance companies. I know insurance as I worked for Aetna for more than aa dozen years.

I like his style and don't like the dandruff on his lapel. If Hillary prevails maybe Bernie will get the nod for veep? He's Jewish and this may be played to his advantage?

The parties and candidates are narrowing down to aa precious few. What will be the defining moments of the Campaign? Tonight's returns. A wise man once told me "people vote their wallets!" In hard times they look for relief. Just look at FDR's victory over President Herbert Hoover.. Hoover was a good man but not for the times.

So who are you betting on? Pinocchio, The Lady. or the Old Man. Today is a very important day in American politics!

This cover article is truly revealing Mrs. Clinton taken from "Alter Egos; Hillary Clinton and the Twilight Struggle Over American Power" published this month in Random House. The caption reads "Hillary Clinton is the last true hawk left in the race."

Last night Lady Hillary Hillary shone in her hour with Rachael Madow.  I was impressed.

I have known of Lady Hillary since 1992. There's no question  of her talents, both good and bad. I say "may the best man or lady win in tonight's contests!

TRUMP'S PEJORATIVE STYLE

Webster says pejorative means having a negative style.. a negative connotation... a slammer if you may. How would you like Donald Trump as your neighbor? Neighbors usually are friendly and helpful. Donald Trump is unrelenting to his opposing to "all of the above"

What's his reputation? Is he a nice guy ? Is this behavior the real Donald Trump? Is he talking down to everyone in his path? Being a billionaire is one thing.. being civil is another. It seems he is coming on stronger than every before. At some point more people than ever will reject his pejorative manners. It. Some voters will reject this "wise-guy" put down manner.

The song group ABBA has a great tune fitting for The Donald Take A Chance On Me!  I am numb to the rhetoric of Donald Trump. Today I watched and listened to Mr. Trump's Delaware speech of Friday. He went on and on and on and on repeating his story about Ford, and Carrier and so on and so forth.

As I just told son Ben it sis a good race. More than 6 months remain before the November Election. Trump slams every one. Will it work? He's in everyone's face. Is Donald Trump really real? The pundits are spitting his messages out like a hook.

In other hews my favorite lawn was mowed again. Why not? The sunshine was wonderful and I "stayed in the sunshine." Tonight we have Red Sox Baseball. Gotta get my Nikon fixed once and for all. Countdown to payday looms. Working on my vinyl  collection.
